Who is eligible for the YC deal?

YC Companies, or founders who have been through YC before (even if they’re working on a new company that isn’t in YC).

I’ll also work with companies who are backed by: Benchmark, A16Z, Sequoia, Accel, First Round, NFX, Craft, Kleiner, Kholsa, Founders Fund, Gokul Rajaram.

How do you verify eligibility?

I look up the company name, the founder name, or at the website in all the obvious places: crunchbase, YC’s site, LinkedIn, etc.

Can I get a refund if I’m not happy with my audit?

Sure, no worries. This never happens in practice, and most folks are honest, so I don’t see this being abused. But, you know, please don’t abuse it.

How long does the audit take?

You’ll have it within 3 days, but I usually deliver it much sooner than this.

Do you share the video with anyone else?

No, it’s just between us. You can share with whoever you want, of course.

Are there types of sites you don’t work with?

Yeah: I don’t work with gambling, anything illegal, BNPL, payday loans, or multi-level marketing. I pretty much don’t touch adult sites either but if you have something quirky and AI related, then I might be game. If you’re not sure, just ask me before ordering: ([email protected]).

Can you review websites that aren’t mine?

Yes, as long as it’s eligible by the other requirements, no problem.

Can I ask specific questions for you to look at?

Yes, in your onboarding form leave a comment. Of course, needs to fit within the 15 min video.

Do you only look at English language sites?

Pretty much, I don’t speak any other languages well enough to look at them professionally.

Are your recommendations all “whitehat”?

Yes, but I’m also not afraid to be brutally honest about what I’m seeing happen, and what I am seeing that’s working in the market. That said, because I’m generally looking at stuff on your site, there really isn’t anywhere where blackhat tactics come into play.

Can you implement the recommendations?

In many cases, yes, but it depends on the specific recommendations, and the amount of work we have at any given time. That said, we can always refer you to people who can help.

Is Chris doing these audits, or someone else?

It’s all Chris. This is why it takes longer or isn’t always available.

Do you require access to any of my analytics to do the audit?

No, none.

What does the process look like after I order?

The way it works is that I have a universal onboarding form. It’s probably overkill for the video audit, but the alternative is much worse for software reasons.

Still, it only takes 3 mins to fill in, and I ask for: your contact info, site info, what the business does, the geo you’re targeting, and who your main competitors are.

Is this just an upsell to another product?

No. I mean, sure, I’m not an idiot, I know that some percentage of folks will follow up because they want me to work with them more. But the audit is designed to be standalone you can take and run with.

Will you sign an NDA before I place an order?

No. I do have my own outside projects, so if I did NDAs for these audits I basically couldn’t ever pursue anything, which would not be a fun way to go through life.

Should I drop everything to implement all of the audit recommendations?

Look, if it’s a page or part of your business that’s crushing it (getting traffic, driving revenue) then you should tread very carefully when it comes to changing those things. Slowly, softly, would be the obvious advice here. And I recommend that advice completely.
